Week 11 - 07 Nov. 2013 - Budgets and resumes

We discussed Pastor Jesse's lecture about integrity, and what integrity in the classroom means.  We discussed an example of cheating on an exam, and students were in general agreement that the example did represent cheating.

Create your personal monthly budget.
On your 4 week spending report:

1. For each total for categories of food, transportation, internet/cell, clothes, other:   (not med or university)
            Calculate 10% of that total
            Subtract that from the total
Add up the 10%s – that is how much they could save each month

2. Start a new sheet with each category on it.
Under each category write the previous month’s total minus 10%.
Each time you spend, write it down, and subtract from the total.

GOAL – stay within the amount you write in the top.  If it looks like you will exceed – DO NOT spend!

This is the purpose – to limit your spending so you can save for the future.

Resumes and CVs
We discussed what American universities and employers look for in a resume and wrote down details to include in our own resumes.
